Su-24 Jet Crashes in Central Russia

MOSCOW (March 14) XINHUA - A Russian-made Su-24 warplane crashed 25 kilometers away from the Shatalovo airdrome in Russia's central Smolensk region on Tuesday, said the Russian air force headquarters.

The aircraft's crew ejected safely, and an investigating commission headed by Colonel General Vladimir Mikhailov, air force deputy commander-in-chief, has flown to the scene of the crash.
