What are the Supernatural Elements in The Raven and what is their significance?

I really don't think that there are any supernatural elements in the raven. Much of what could be taken as supernatural (the Raven saying "Nevermore" for example) all takes place in the protagonist's head. He believes that is what the Raven's squawking is saying, not because it is what he wants to believe, but because it is NOT what he wants to believe--that he will never be reunited with Lenore.
