ALPHIE Injury Tracking Software Y2K Failure

Colleagues:

My assistant and I discovered our first Y2K glitch in our training room this afternoon. We have been using a VERY old version of the ALPHIE Injury Tracking Software that we have had for years. Since the program did what we wanted it to do in terms of injury tracking and also since our old Apple 2E just kept chugging along we didn't see a need to change systems until recently. (We have recently purchased Sportsware and are gradually making the switch.)

Until the switch was complete, however, we were still using the old software. Unfortunately, we've discovered today that the old Alphie software is not Y2K compliant and will not accept "00" in its date fields. I called Cramer and they tell me there is no "fix" for the problem.

So, it looks like we will be going over to Sportsware completely now instead of gradually. However, if anyone has been able to find a "fix" for this problem and would like to share it with us we'd love to hear about it.

Sincerely, Sports Releted Discussion Group Member
