greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

We have one grandchild and one on the way. we want to buy our kids digital cameras for Christmas. We don't want overkill. We want them to be able to send us pictures and not be put off by hard to operate features. thanks for any help! LMB

If you are willing to do some searching and possibly waiting, you might consider the Olympus D-450Z. This unit cost around $450 via some of the net sources. They are in short supply at this time. I've used this camera for about 4-5 months and find it to be a good camera for the money. It has lots of features of more expensive cameras. I've also been told that a model D-460Z may be on the market soon; but don't know anything about it.

Good luck.

I agree the Olympus D450z is a very nice point and shoot camera. It takes very good pictures, indoors or out. I do not believe there is much of a change in the D460z except with the menu selection.

Good Luck Tom
