Konicas In General

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Konica 35mm SLRs : One Thread

Folks, Having been the recent recipient of a Konica S/261 rangefinder, I would like to explore the extent of Konica cameras of all types being used/collected. I am most interested in knowing how many here use other Konicas besides the SLR's. As this is an off-topic project, please contact me privately at my e-mail address. Thanx.

Konica S-261

For starters to your question, I picked up the Auto S 261 NIB about five years ago. Had to run one roll of film through it, so I picked up a roll of 126 ASA 200, which is all that is still available I believe, and took one roll. I also had a few flash cubes, so I took a few flash pictures too, four to be exact! The results were quite nice. Being able to focus precisely with the Konica rangefinder made for sharp, clear prints, and the auto exposure system did a fine job with the negative film. It's back in the box and in my camera cabinet now, but it's a great example of what was available for amateur use in the late 60s and early 70s. I would have been delighted with it at the time.
