Is B+W chemistry harmful to septic systems?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : B&W Photo - Film & Processing : One Thread

Hi guys. I live in the stix, and want to build a darkroom. before I do though, I need to know if it will harm my septic system. I will be doing a low volume of work. ( just my own stuff ) say 100 prints a month. Thanks, Monty.

Check out the Mar/Apr 2000 Photo Techniques magazine. There is an article by Robert Chapman.

Monty,

This has been discussed here several times.

Bottom line, no, it will not harm your septic. You should however do silver recovery prior to dumping the fixer.
