Who wants to make a killing at the bookies?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Right well here goes, according to today's Metro newspaper (its a London daily given away free at Underground Stations for those outside the Metropilis, but not bad all the same) well.....in their football section they do the match stats etc for the games tomorrow, and as Watford are a London(ish)team, they are included.

Quite rightly the odds on the match, as supplied by Corals, are shown in the betting setion as being Newcastle 1/4, Watford 9/1 and 7/2 the draw. - yes...just as it should be, but then here comes the rub......in the first scorer section. The first scorer is shown as Shearer 11/1 yes 11(eleven)/1.....ahead of him they then have Dunc at 9/2, Hughie 6/1 Kets 7/1 and Speed, Helguson, Smart and Smith at 10/1 do they know something that we don't or is that nice Mr Coral just dying to give money away.

Don't blame me if it is a misprint though....the next in the betting at 14/1 is Nobby and someone they call Gavilav....I though that was something you cleaned the bog with!

There are TWO free papers given away on the Metro in the Golden City. A sort of dodgy national one and also Metro which features North East affairs. Stick that one in your pipe and smoke it cockney w*nkers!:-)

Oi Softie.....who ae you calling Cockney W**kers......bloody rich coming from someone with a monika like yours!

The Metro the they do down here is almost like a national papers, you know the usual kind of main and international news, but the sports and entertainment sections are pretty much just London based issues

There is a Metro that is kind of national, I think. There's one in Manureland too, same logo, same style, less interesting sports page ;-)

I think they are prbably all the same 'basis' paper and only the sport and entertainment sections change according to the region it is printed for.

I'd much rather have the Newcastle one down here than the Lahdan one.
