John Swinton, the former Chief of Staff for the New York Times (1953) no thanks on a night with Laura -- I'm straight ;-)

My congratulations Doomerstomper, the prize "and" a shinny red apple belongs to you.

Declining of your rightful prize is understandable. However, should you wish, you may donate your prize to the local zoo. Checking with the local office of the IRS, such a donation, properly defined on your tax form as a food or entertainment contribution would be acceptable. Based on the information received, a higher deductible amount will be realized if you use the category of entertainment. For reasons known only to the IRS, donations to the local zoo of powdered over sized white asses realize a higher value as long as the recipients are large over sexed male Hyenas. Sorry Doomerstomper, I dont formulate the rules, the IRS does. My best advice would be to consult your CPA. Really, who needs IRS problems?

Hawk, (since I know it's you now)

Do you remember saying this:

I wouldn't be suprised at all that government are monitoring this site. They are not just looking for religous people, or just people that own guns and talk about overthrowing government. But when you put the two together, you have a dangerous combination. These people who believe that God is telling them that this is the time to bring about the Armageddon, and who also keep indicating that nuclear weapons and weapons of mass destruction are going to be used, are the ones they are keeping an eye on. They consider these types of people to be very dangerous, because some of the more unstable ones go over the edge and use weapons themselves in hope of fulfilling their delusions.

It's one of the times that I agreed with you, and I wasn't able to tell you.

While I'm here, if you can find it in your heart to tell me the name of the book you mentioned about God, I'd sure like to read it. I wrote the name down the day you posted it, but it must have gotten buried in the stacks of notes I have on my desk, because I can't find it.

Believe it or not, I think we agree on something!!!

Thanks, Dog. I'll check it out!

hi pro!

I've been thinking about our discussion last night, and I'm wondering if you know that you can add wheat gluten to the dough if your wheat is too course? It helps it raise, it enhances flavor, and extends it's freshness.

Just a thought.

(*wink. I hope you know I'll always have an affinity for you.)

Laura - HUH?

You said "hi pro!", so I don't know if you were talking to me or not. You and I were discussing wheat grinding in some other thread somewherez, so I'll assume you were talking to me.

Yes, I've read about the gluten fix to get a better rise. Next batch I'm going to try it, only I'll use ascorbic acid (same stuff I read somewhere) -- as soon as I find out WHEN to put it in.

damn bread -- such a bother but pretty dern tasty!
