Spokane/Portland

greenspun.com : LUSENET : It's All About Joe 90: The Discussion Board : One Thread

The Spokane show is going to be AWESOME!!! Lit, Joe 90, Save Ferris and 22 Jacks on 4/2. Listen to KAEP/The Peak for details. Definately do a road trip. And while you're at it, you should see THE BEATLES at the Roseland Grill in Portland on April 1st. That one's going to be good too! It's sponsored by KINK radio. You can get details by listening to www.kink102.com. I think that's the address. If not, I will correct. Checking now.

By the way, there IS a link on the WRAX website (where they played on Monday morning). It was just kinda hard to see. Bummer for those who didn't hear the show. It was funny and very musical.

oh dear god, how can i see this and not be DYING TO BE THERE?!?!?

i'm gonna stand at the end of the freeway with a sign that says "will trade sexual favors for frequent flyer miles". either that, or i'm hurling myself off a building.

happy friday!

KINK'S web address is actually: www.kinkfm102.com. But for some reason I can't find a "listen" link there. I'm trying to find out if they are, in fact, streaming. KINK is a HUGE Joe 90 supporter. That's the station where the band did an in-studio performance with Adam D and Dave E from the Crows sitting in. Totally amazing!

Please get a grip.

i'm thinking of calling NASA to see if they can help with the situation. or maybe mike can send the joe 90 blimp to bring us all to portland???

i need to get a grip too.

erica-glad you had such a great time and that was an awesome review...i could actually "feel" your excitement. have fun in nashville!

tell NASA that you know Bip Ruda, second man to walk on the moon. maybe they'll give us our own spaceship. or time machine. or both.

i propose a go-go-go on the blimp thing. i'll lend you my plug-in air pump.

jill, the bip ruda thing had me laughing for like 5 minutes :) i think we need an official joe 90 fan transportation time machine.

ok, i called KINK and Roseland Grille and several other places, and nobody seems to know anything about THE BEATLES playing in Portland.

help.

ok, gotta go decide if i am going to vegas tomorrow. I only have 17 hours left to figure it out.

i just looked at the e pluribus site, and it had the spokane date listed... it's at outback jack's, that's where they played before, right? i'd like to see them there... and of course, the beatles in portland, if i can manage it. kelly, are you planning a roadtrip?

has anyone seen the kevin spacey movie "swimming with sharks"? they play an old gigolo aunts song in the first scene, i was shocked. it was very cool to hear though. sorry, i know this isnt the gigolo aunts folder, but that one is completely dead and the e pluribus ng is barely alive.

-- kathy (countcrow1@aol.com), March 11, 2000.

kathy, that is weird. the radio station here says they are playing at "Playfair" which is a race track. please, no more outback jacks. sometime i wll get around to telling the outback jacks midget story. i would have told it sooner, but i couldn't think of anything possibly more offensive than telling a 'midget story.' i figured i better let you all get to know me better first :) anyway, the spokane show is supposed to be something called Springfest. I am supposed to buy tickets tomorrow. $15/each. G&B select a seat. No ticketmaster here.

i was planning on driving to portland to see the beatles too, but so far i can't find any information. if there is a show there april 1st i'll be there though!

lmk if anyone needs me to get them a ticket for spokane. so far i am up to 7 :)

you're probably right then kelly, i'm sure the radio station is more reliable than epluribus.com... that show isnt reserved seating, is it? i want to go... but i have to find out what the rest of the dates are and make sure i wouldnt miss that much school, plus i'd need a ride. so i dont know... i really wanna see the beatles though!!

they just showed a repeat of the cc appearance on conan, featuring joe 90 and the gigolo aunts as i'm sure you all know... my mother taped it at home, but i didnt have a copy of it, and i just got a tv here with a built in vcr and attempted to record it. the video came out fine, but there's no sound!!! it's kinda funny to just watch them all dancing around and clapping in total silence, but the music would be nice!! oh well... it sucked anyway, not NEARLY enough closeups of dave gibbs :)

You're on the right track re: Spokane. I don't know the name of the place but the show HAS been moved from Outback Jack's. It's now a bigger venue. Playfair sounds close. The Peak Spring Fling. Sunday 4/2. Lit, Save Ferris, Joe 90, 22 Jacks. Actual details will be posted shortly on joe90.net.

And The Beatles show IS happening. 4/1 at Roseland Grill in Portland. An official announcement is forthcoming.

Thanks for the information, Mike.

Kathy, I will email you when i find out if the seating is reserved at Spokane. I would seriously doubt it, but I will find out soon enough. I will definitely be at both shows, even though Portland is a six or seven or eight hour drive. there is no concurance about that in my house.

ok, i am off to vegas in three hours. keep alt.music.misc alive.

dammit!dammit!dammit!

i read in the cc folder about the conan repeat, and me in my NyQuil induced state thought it was the one with just cc (the letterman one, i think) (or something) anyway...i totally missed it. and i was reading about it right at the time the show would have been starting.

now i'm crying.

not really, but i want to.

how selfish is that? jill just got into an accident, and i'm cryin about not being able to tape all of our guys from the tv.

i'm sorry. jill, i'm sorry you had such a crappy morning. how stupid is that, to not write a ticket if it's less than $1000 damage? i can't imagine the cops busting someone for dope and saying, 'well, there's only $800 worth of crack here, so we'll just *log* it.'

whatever. i'm at work cuz i had a really bad headache yesterday and got nothing done. i was going to leave early, but i was playing in the straightdope.com message board. everyone should check out that site. sorry i can't post a link, because i'm simple minded and i don't know how.

well, happy saturday everyone. i want to go to washington.
