Hello!!!

Any software capable to burn VideoCD 1.1 ?

Nero, EasyCD, WinOnCD ... only creates VCD 2.0

Thanks.

Exactly why commercial VCD burning software doesn't creat VCD 1.1, there really is no point. VCD 2.0 combines the features of 1.0, 1.1 and adds extra features into 2.0 respectively.

Just create a VCD with no menus or index points and there you have a 1.1 VCD

Excuse me, but ... VCD with no menus or index points isn't a VCD 1.1 If you play them in a DVD Player appears PBC in display.

PBC is a VCD 2.0 feature.

VideoCD 1.1 structure include folders:

CDI VCD MPEGAV

with no EXT_ and LOT_X ... PSD_X references.

VCD 2.0

include EXT_ ... LOT_X ... PSD_X .

Regards.

Excuse me! I have VCD 1.1 discs and my DVD player displays PBC control. It displays it because you have Playback(PBC) control over the audio. You can choose the left or right sound channels. Pedro, if you going to sound harsh at least get the correct info when you do.

Easy CD Creator (everyone's fave, (fanfare...)) can create both ver 1.1 and 2.0. If you follow the wizard there is a point where it asks if you want a simple straight-play VCD (ver 1.1) or a one-level menu VCD (ver 2.0). When the VCD is successfully finished, you might note that the folders created are the same, whether ver 1.1 or 2.0. The difference here is that there is nothing inside the segment directory for ver 1.1. In any case, when you choose straight-play VCD (ver 1.1) Easy CD merely fills up the "start sequence" tab with the MPEG clips you give it in the order you want them to play. Leave the "menu" tab alone and empty. So that's all there is to it. The wizard, to me, is more confusing than without so I have turned it off by default. Then I include the MPEG clips I wish to use for the VCD on the left pane, then drag clips to the right pane under "start sequence" in the order that I want, then hit disc>create CD from layout. Viola..! there you have your ver 1.1....!

Thanks, EMartinez. I will test your solution.

Lone Ranger and MrVCD, I'm sorry but I don't want to be harsh. I speak english very bad. Excuse me again.

I have an VCD 1.1 (The Beatles - Behind the beat). The folder structure is: CDI MPEGAV VCD

All VCD's burned by actual recording softwares (WinOnCD, Nero, NTI ...) are the next folder structure.

CDI EXT (proper of VCD 2.0?) MPEGAV SEGMENT (VCD 2.0?) VCD

My Philips DVD710 play correctly (ff, rew, time counter) all VCD's 1.1 with -CDI, MPEGAV, VCD- structure. But VCD's with -CDI, EXT, MPEGAV, SEGMENT, VCD- structure not plays correctly in my DVD710 (no ff, rew, time counter). It could be a coincidence but ...

Because of above I think that my Philips DVD unit detects VCD 2.0 from folder structure.

Thanks and sorry.
