Just an Idea (for fun)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

I'm thinking that it would be cool if each week (or month) they had a mystery guest come in to the ER as a patient. Like let's say for example, Leonardo DiCaprio comes into the the er after a night of partying for alcohol poisoning, or Demi Moore is admited for complications from plastic surgery or something...lol. (Just a silly thought I had :) Anyways, if you think this is a good idea, what celebrity would you like to see on ER and what would be thier emergency? :)

Joy, that is a great idea! You could get so creative with that!

Tom Hanks!! I don't care why he's there, but it would be great!! He could be, um, Carol's cousin!! :-)

Xena Warrior Princess could be admitted for battle wounds. Or a rash, I bet all that metal chafes.

That would be sort of cool...like the mystery caller they have on Frasier each week.

I hate to be the voice of dissent, but I don't feel it's in the spirit of ER to glamorize the show by having celebrities guest star. It is a good idea and would be quite interesting/entertaining, but it would be more reasonable if the show took place in Southern California or something.

I agree with Naomi. It would be okay maybe every once in a while, but I found the presence of Alan Alda and Rebecca DeMornay a little distracting early this season. The regular cast and storyline are enough for me. Still, if we could have a celebrity on, I'd pick someone from the south (Delta Burke?) just to spice up Chicago a bit! Now that might be fun.

I would like to see Julia Roberts or someone big like that!

Yeah, Julia Roberts could come on and be Carter's love interest...although she's not blond. But she's already done Friends and that show with Benjamin Bratt. Or Cameron Diaz, except she reminds me too much of Roxanne. Brad Pitt would be nice, he could be like an injured cop or something. Meg Ryan...for Romano!!! (I'd give her to Mark if he weren't with Elizabeth)

I think it would be funny if someone very strange came on, like someone that has there own T.V. series, and kind of intertwined them. Maybe like David Duchvony and Gillian Anderson, coming into the emergency room because they are on a strange case that lead them to the ER or something stupid like that. What a funny and great idea Joy, I loved reading the responces!!!!

I agree with Naomi. This is supposed to be a realistic show. Celebreties would go to "Chicago Hope" as it is a 'private' hospital, not a county hospital.

But maybe Halle Berry could be on her way back home to Cleveland (yeah!) and get into a hit and run accident and the nearest hospital would be Cook County. (ha ha)

I agree with Diana. RD and AA's appearences really got on my nerves, and I don't want that kind of sensationalistic distraction pervading my favorite show every week. It's a cute idea to think about though.

Maybe Oprah, since she's from Chicago anyway. She could come in with a dog bite and they'd have to give her a tetanus shot. Since she has a bunch of dogs in her house anyway.

True, it would be unrealistic to have celebrity guests on ER but it's just a fun idea to think about. We know it won't really happen!

Remember in Season 2, Scotty Pippen was on as himself. That didn't do anything for me, or for the episode either, in my opinion. It seemed kind of contrived, but maybe it was just Jerry's "Scotty sitings" that bothered me. Maybe if it had been handled differently, it would have been better.
