Tamron 'pro' teleconvertor for AF lens same as SP?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camera Equipment : One Thread

I know there are many great reviews for the Tamron pro line of teleconvertor. My question is this...is the Tamron SP teleconvertor the same as the Tamron sp 'pro' teleconvertor. I'm getting someone to pick it up for me in NYC and I just want to make sure I get the right one. Thank you.

Yes the SP AF is the same as the pro. I was also confused over this, but compared its spec to the pro spec on the Tamron website ad they match up. So I am 99% sure I got the right one. If the person picking it up goes to B and H they will be able to sort it out 100%.

Yes, I think it is the same also -- SP2xAF pro. I just looked at it at Samy's (in LA) and it has 7 elements. They claim that Tokina (Kenko), Sigma & Tamron are all made by the same manufacturer. Because I was also recommended the Kenko Pro 300 1.4x (5 elements) and the Kenko Pro 300 2x (7 elements) convertors. If Samy's is right...these are the same as the Tamron Pro convertors. Do you agree?
