Nikon LS2000 vs. Polaroid Sprint Scan 4000

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Opinion please: Sprint Scan 4000 can be had for around $1486 while Nikon's Super Coolscan 2000 is pricing at around $1388. For twice the res at only an extra 100 bucks or so.... is Nikon that much better or is the Polaroid that great of a deal?

The Nikon has Digital ICE for removing dust marks and the option of an automated slide feeder, features the Polaroid lacks. They are both great scanners, you have to decide which features are important to you. Both scanners have come down in proce in recent months, they used to be much closer to $2000. Minolta just released the ScanELITE with Digital ICE and specs comparable to the Nikon at a slightly lower price I believe.
