You have a time machine for the day.. congratulations. Now, what the hell are you going to do with it?

Hmm, good question.

For purely selfish reasons I would not go back in time to kill Hitler or anything like that, because I wouldn't want to change history in such a way that would result in my not having been born .. of course, if I hadn't been born I wouldn't be able to go back in time and kill Hitler, right?

For observation purposes I think I'd most like to travel back and witness the life of Christ, just to see what it was REALLY like and whether he REALLY did all those miracles, or whether he was just a smooth talker, or what. (You can call me "Doubting Thomas" now.)

I'd also like to travel back in time to meet my great-grandparents on my Dad's side, because they immigrated from the Ukraine and I would love to have been able to talk to them just once, to see what these amazing, courageous people were like.

If I had access to a time machine, I'd probably attempt to find my great-grandparents either when they were newly married, or before them emmigrated to Canada from England. In doing my family tree, I've hit alot of roadblocks on my great-grandfather's side, because he died so early, and didn't keep contact with his family of origin.. So I'd probably go and get the information I needed to have a more complete family tree. Speaking of Jesus, Jan.. That would be an interesting side-trip to make, wouldn't it? I'd also like to maybe go back to ancient Rome and figure out HOW THE HELL the Catholic Church got so much damn power. I mean, books just don't do it justice. I want to figure out the whole Pope thing. My big theological question, I want to ask an early leader of the Catholic Church.. is how "communion".. which is basically Jesus' teaching AGAINST sacrament, got turned INTO a sacrament? But I can live with not knowing that. I'd way more like to find my roots.

what is this about "communion"? I don't follow your question on it. :) -k

I thought of something else I would like to do with my time machine, which is to go back in time, set up a bank account with five bucks in it, in my name, and then I would be able to collect the interest in the present, and I could buy a new car.

I don't really understand the Communion question either, but then I was never a student of theology.
