Clinton Morrison

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Oh well somethings never change, even on a new BBS, and I'll continue scouring the lower divisions for likely lads.

Fulham made a bid of 1.5 million pounds for Crystal Palaces' striker, Clinton Morrison. I was very surprised that Palace didn't jump at the offer as they do need the cash. However, they have stated their desire to keep hold of Morrison untill the end of the season.

I realise this lad is not the (sole) answer to our derth of quality strikers. But I'm almost sure the Loony Georgian will go in the summer, leaving just Gallacher and robinson as cover for Big and Big Yin. And Gallacher isn't getting any younger, while Robinson has been MIA lately and really hasn't showed the talent that Morrison posses.

Ideally I would like to see us sign a top quality striker as backup, plus Morrison, but am doubtfull as we do not appear to be in the running for any of the top "names" in Europe.

This could leave us going for Louis Saha, Carl Cort, and I would hope Morrison. While these three players show plenty of talent, none of them have really had a standout season to attract major interest from the "big" clubs. However, who is to say that we are not the club these players come to prominance with.

Tre, GOOD MORNING AUSTRALIA, yep guess what film I watched the other night again, you got it in one, latest transfer gossip has Coppinger interesting Hearts boss Jim Jeffries at #650.000, he has 4 million to spend and at one time was interested in Robinson. I have a sneaky feeling that YBR may play Glass this week -end, make or break match.

Good afternoon Bill.

Yeh I have read about Hearts interest in Coppinger. Personally I wish Bobby sold them Robinson when they put in a bid for him.

I (think) I know what BR thinking is in deciding to keep Robinson, but transfer listing Coppinger. I believe BR reckons Robinson has the pace and physical attributes to survive in the EPL, while he possibly reckons that Coppinger lacks the physical presence.

However if you have read any of Softies reports on the old BBS site, you'll see that that the Reserve Team watches rate Coppinger as a better prospect.

I'd be happy to see Robinson on his bike as I don't think BR will move for Clinton Morrison (even though Mick Wardsworth has touted the lad to BR) while Robinson is on the books.

Can't remember now whether I posted this on here or TPBB (The Previous Bulletin Board), but THE man to go for IMO is Pahars from S'ton. He'd cost a bob or two, but the money we'll get for Nobby ("always wanted to play for Real") Solano should just about cover it.

Oh god we've got an acronym for the previous bulletin board now....it's like a knife through the heart....

I'm still kinda hoping that Bobby Ewings gonna wake up in the shower and the BBS will be ok....ya knaa like an eorly April Fool....

Scarey, isn't it? The only thing which could come close would be to turn up at the Strawberry before the game and find it had been levelled to extend the carpark. I realise that people need to be able to park cars an aal that, but the Strawbeery is special and so was the bbs. And HOW special it was!

I am eternally in Duncan's debt for getting such an excellent Methadone fix sorted, but I still dream of clicking the mouse and having those four familar frames pop out at me with their oh so misleading subject titles. You know, when you click on one with a wry grin knowing perfectly well whose name will be next to each of the threads just by the titles?

It's gonna be tough, and we might not all make it through, but hopefully we'll get this place ticking just like the last one.

News from the Crystal Palace manager yesterday was that they will defo have to sell before the transfer deadline of March 24. Again Clinton Morrison being the favoured player mentioned to go as he is viewed as their most saleable asset.

Oh if only we had the money as this kid will get to the EPL sooner or later.

Crystal Palace manager, Steve Coppell, has said that neither Hayden Mullins or Clinton Morrison are available to leave ahead of next weeks transfer deadline. He has said that a number of clubs have approached the club about the availability of the pair.

Martin O'Neill has been at Selhurst park to watch Mullins on a number of occasions this season, and is on his list of potential replacements for Heskey.
