Further Bans

greenspun.com : LUSENET : MAME Action Replay : One Thread

Am I correct in assuming that atarifb, atarifb1, and atarifb4 are all MULTIPLAYER-ONLY games? If so, they will be added to the banned games list. And are there any other late stragglers out there that we didn't notice first time around?

Hmmm...noone has answered, so I'll assume that they are. One further thing: are there any working romsets of Rainbow Islands? The scores seem to be very high, and Jumping (at the very least) is not working properly. It will be banned until emulated correctly.

Q.T, My Rainbow Islands Rom-set works OK. Got it at Jose-Q`s. However I can`t get Jumping to work. The screen is all screwed-up.

Quick question though. Is it deemed OK to use secret codes on Rainbow Islands ?. I ask this because someone recently uploaded a score of 3m on round 13 ! As far as I`m aware these codes are for PC use only , and weren`t available for use in the arcades ( the codes are usually buttons on a keyboard..SSBBJSS or something ). Because if it`s OK , I`ll do the same. Thanks, ALEX

Whoops...ignore that last bit. Apparently those codes WERE able to be used in the arcades. Sorry about that. I assume therefore thats it`s OK to use them at MARP ?

Ok, the codes for Rainbow Islands are entered the same way as for Bubble Bobble, but there is no indication that it has worked until you insert a coin. Rainbow Islands is the only set that works properly, Rainbow Islands: Extra version didn't work very well at all (unplayable). I think the MAME team should have had Jumping working as that bootleg is the source the c-chip hack that makes Rainbow Islands work. Jumping also works fine in RAINE as well...

One more multiplayer game to add::::

Spiker!

oh nevermind, it just looked like one, spiker's a single player vs. computer..... not a multiplayer

Lazer Command seems to be a two player game only.
