Some Y2K issues of no great issue but interesting neverthless

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TB2K spinoff uncensored : One Thread

I wasn't going to post this because Y2K issues are over. Right?

Well not quite over and some issues are profitable and interesting;

ie. Ulead PhotoImpact graphic program has an issue. It fails the year 2000 30 day usage test and actually rolls over as a fully registered programme. We're pretty sure about it now since it is March and nag screens are gone. Yup. It's the full programm all right. Anyone else notice this?

A local shopping centre didn't do so well on the 29th day of trading. Registers would not see the date, but they worked around it by operating in March 1 twice apparently.

The financial package used by a national insurance company called an invalid date for 29th February after remediation. All work that day was re-entered next day when it was discovered that you could see the previous day but it refused to let you in. The workaround was to redo the day's entries.

Just a bit of gossip in town... Regards from OZ

I just noticed that my fax machine thinks it's March 8th today (Tuesday March 7). So much for Leap Year.

Ahem, I posted this thread because we're just dreary & bored at the server this morning in OZ. But Carl has posted and we're feeling better now.

G'Day Carl. :o)
