I really like the composition of this one. The curve of the leaf is nice. I wish the depth of field were a little deeper so that the body upper edge was not out of focus.

The excess black at the LH edge keeps pulling my eye off the subject. How about trimming it off and getting rid of the blurred top left edge of the leaf as well? If you cover the LH edge with your hand, I think you'll see what I mean.

Otherwise, I think it's excellent.

This is a really nice shot. It's very diffrent from anything I've seen here. Terrific use of color.

I sort of like the softer focus at the back, makes it look a little more dynamic, like the spider is slowly moving forward...a picture like this makes it easy to image the slow and coordinated movements of a spider stalking around. Getting the front extended legs and the head in focus was the right choice given limited depth of field. Cutting off the left side screws up the balance of the image, I think it looks fine.
