Got this reply from that journo who wrote all that bollox about Shearer - attached below. Can't really remember what it was all about - makes me feel almost guilty. Anyone else get any responses?

Actually I'll grow up when I've finished replying to all the Shearer e-mails -
about 20 years should be enough.
Blimey, never had such a huge response (both for and against).
As I'm sure you're aware this is the whole point of a column though and this one
has certainly done the trick. Didn't mean to be rude to be honest, it's meant to
be greeted with a sense of humour. The same sort of thing Shearer exhibits in
his 'boring Shearer' McDonald ads.
Sadly I do think Shearer is past his best but I hope I'm wrong and he does the
business this summer. Then I'll have to grovel to him and you. I do think it's
time we stopped harping on about past glories though and started looking towards
the future. But no, before you ask, I don't know where that's coming fromeither.
Any case, cheers once again for the e-mail and keep on enjoying the paper. It's
no where near as rude and juvenile the rest of the week honest!Best wishes
