I'll see what I can do about that....may take a few days though.

Again not trying to be picky Dunc, but purely in the interests of constructive criticism - would it be possible to have the number of posts to each thread listed, and ideally the number of new/unread posts. I feel these issues are the major weaknesses. Frankly, if you techies feel this is our best short-term alternative I'm more than happy to give it a go. Better safe than sorry!

Good points Clarky, and I'll see what I can do.....hopefully we'll settle into things in a couple of weeks as people get used to it

Hehehe...

Duncan mate.....you gonna be able to handle all the constructive criticisms?

Any chance of a change password function? I'll never remember that one that you gave me....I hope you weren't infering anything by it either ;))

Well, so far it's nice and speedy (but that might just be my end). Thanks Duncan, for you obvious hard work. How easily tailored is it?

Date and time details of replies would be useful, so you know which discussions are active.

I like the way you can go into a thread and see the whole chain of replies. Will it get slow if there's a long thread of 100 plus replies? It'll also be a pain to scroll down each time to see the latest one's.

Sorry, I'm soundy picky already. Let's face it, it'll take us all a bit of time to get used to a new environment. The most important thing is that the contributors stick together, and someone also find a way to get fresh blood in so it doesn't die of inbreeding ;-)

Hmm. the biggest draw back is having to put an e-mail address in. Let's see if it accepts a dummy.

this is just a test to see if this message/thread appears at the top on the message bit and the bottom of the thred bit.

nope. wrong on both counts.

I think the new answers bit is the best way to get into new/occurring discussions.

(this is just a bland post to let me get the feel of the system and change my e-mail address to a functioning one)

cool - my new new Yahoo! address is now the default.

KRATION has arrived!!!!

(sorry)

The update on the recent answers seems a bit slow.

If this 'new answers' bit was updated as answers were posted (or at least every minute (or 30 seconds?)), then I think that this would be the best front page for the BBS. It would show the 'happening' debates and would let them evolve in real time.

Otherwise, this new BBS format seems to work v.well.

But It doesn't include the new questions Chevy so no-one would have a clue what was going on. You have to keep all messages at the top

A time stamp would probably make things a bit easier. Not sure how easy that is to incorporate, though. Sorry if that's already been suggested..probably has..I'm tired...off to bed now. Night all :-)
