Laura and I have CERTAINLY shared "words" in the past. However, THIS forum is about a NEW beginning for EVERYONE. AFAIK, she can ask whatever questions she likes and be answered by those who choose...preferably IN the thread where the question was asked.

I understand that there are those who hate the concept of an unmoderated forum and want it to fail. Were those YOUR thoughts when you started a new thread to express what you could have expressed in the thread referenced?

This always was Doc Paulie's forum. CPR was always the most prolific poster herein, and for a LONG, LONG time, he presented information that was useful...even information we couldn't get anywhere else. As I said elsewhere, I'm probably the newest "regular" here, having entered perhaps 7 or 8 months ago. I never liked CPR's "style" on the forum when I entered, and I mentioned it to him offline. He explained the reasoning behind his "pitbull" behavior and I even understood it to some extent.

A number of posters from other Y2k fora have come here recently. Some came strictly to disrupt, and they know who they are. Others came to engage in post-Y2k discussion, and some others came to simply point out how this forum has slid downhill.

Besides the new people who have come in to point out how this forum has declined, one of the old regulars returned to point out the same. I hadn't reviewed the threads under discussion because I KNEW they were "pissing contests." I DID spend the time today to review them, and I would have to agree with Patricia....WHERE ARE THE ADULTS AND PROFESSIONALS?

Now we have a poster who's been banned from another forum emulating CPR's pitbull behavior....a self-professed newbie to Y2k and the internet. Where many here have been involved in Y2k for 4 years, this person thinks that 4 months of "research" gives one the right to turn this forum into an AOL teen chatroom. When a few adult professionals brought this fact to light, they were met with name-calling and threats of following or something. I didn't read this until the URL was sent to me. I'm quite capable of ignoring this person. However, I must wonder, What happened to the "pitbull"? Is it more important that old threads from a pig farmer get posted? Is it more important that old threads from TB2000 regarding an anonymous poster get rehashed in just about every thread on the forum?

Yesterday we saw a poster enter TB2000 expressing anti-Semitism. It was eventually deleted, but I thought the responses fitting. I'm not generally a "confrontational" type of person...definitely not a "pitbull" type of person. However, I DO recognize unacceptable behavior when I see it, and I know many others do also. What DO the regular posters want from this forum now that Y2k has come and gone? Do you want a rehash of what everyone said and DID before Y2k? Do you want an AOL fluff-ball insulting those who have contributed to debunking for up to 4 years? Do you want to remain silent while this forum slides FURTHER downhill? Doc asked what folks wanted in the form of redirection. I'm not sure what direction I'd like to see the forum take, but I'm DAMN sure of what direction I do NOT want it to take, and that's the direction it's headed in right now.

One of the things I appreciated about our forums was that our regulars never caused it to become degraded down to the level of other forums. There were a lot of people who disagreed with us and showed their asses in the way they posted on our forums, but overall we acted like the adults we are. I find it rather pathetic that LL actually thinks she can come here and "drive" the regular females off. It is obvious that she is attempting to push our buttons and cause us to loose our tempers and "react" to her in her own manner, but that will not happen as we have no desire to lower ourselves down to her level. We are not the ones that will "go away".
