Warning to users of dvd2mpg squeezer

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

i captured some clips from a dvd using dvd2mpg squeezer. after i combined the audio with the video and played the file using media player(with the intervideo filters installed) the a/v was out of sync.so i cropped the audio in small increments till they were synced. later i used media player with the default filters and the file was out of sync. i played back some other files i had synced while those intervideo filters were installed, and they all played back out of sync. but the files synced using the default filters play synced on my dxr2,while the intervideo synced files dont. so i have to say that the intervideo filters are faulty, and not the default media player filters. it never occured to me that the audio/video filters could effect the sync, but i learned the hard way after having to resync quite a few files. learn from my mistake!

ndumu,

If you're planning to backup your DVD or convert it to VCD/SVCD for transporting convenience, then use the FlaskMpeg method. No filters or players to mess with. It's a simple as unzip, plug-in, and play. It's the easiest and the fastest so far. Quality / sync is good. No problem yet.
