Depends on which of the rumors you are talking about. Tax on interstate sales; may be tried; enforcement is not easy; see sales from mail order. Tax for use of e-mail; hey, Ed just tried to prune the herd and create a cult; it appears that he got bit where it hurts!! Seems unlikely for members who want to be re-elected. Increased phone bills for internet use [this is private industry]. Will be tried and serve the cable industry well [people tend to leave an unpleasant place to go to a better place]. 602; as far as I know, it is bunk.
