Best Wallpaper Photo Camera? (no retouching/sizing)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Hey digicam-fans,

I love making photos for windows (in this case mac)wallpaper (likely 1024x768) and don't care about print quality at all. I want perfect photos right from the camera. Crisp edges, no JPEG artefacts, highly saturated colours, and no-flash friendliness.

I have taken almost 6000 photos with my trusty Olympus D-200L, and although I love almost everything about it, 640x480 is too small, and it the JPEG compression appears too strong. If I could have the same camera (which is focus-free(?)) and just improve the size and image quality, I would, but I can't, so I'm looking for your help.

Let me hear your best "from camera to wallpaper" cameras...
