Still Mpeg file for EZ CD to accept for Menu Creation

Doug, Ross:

Can you guys help me out in creating the still mpv file that EZ CD will accept as a menu item? What do I need to do to convert either a JPEG or BMP file. I-Author has an encoder to create a VBS from the BMP. EZ CD does not like that too much. What do I have to do to get EZ CD to take the still?

I have used EZ CD to make VCD with menu successfully. As much as my experience shows, EZ CD does not take mpv file, ie. mpeg without audio, for its menu. So I used Ulead to generate the required file by adding background sound the menu graphics and later import the generated clip into EZ VCD Creator. This method works.

Thanks Daniel. That did it. I used VideoWaveII to do just what you've described and EZ is chucking along to create the menu and clips for me....Thanks, I'll buy you a beer!

ok well im still a bit in the dust. Ok so i have the ulead 3 i know it will let me install a still for a few seconds (or miniutes or however long i want), but then what exactly do i do to get ezy4 to accpet it? Also lets say i start the easy 4 and i do not use the wizard. if i click on menu, how the heck do i get it to accpet my file as this? I was never able to figure the easy 4 out concerning menus. i did use the i-suthor to make the still clips ezy did accept. Ingeyen after you make the file a vbs, you have to start the remuxer it has built in, add the vbs(dont worry just add the file with nothing else) and the remuxer converts in to an mps from there you can convert it to a cif file this is what i did.

Doug,

The problem with I-author is that it will makes SVCD and not VCD. I can't get it to accept my VCD files. If i demux the VCD and Mux it with the internal muxer, then it will do it in SVCD without issue. If you are successful in getting I-author to accept the VCD files, please let me know how.

When i used the i-author it did let me use my files. i just used their set up wizard to guide me through. befroe you begin if your using the wizard it gives you the choice of making a supervcd or a regular vcd. Jut pick regular and go from there

Doug,

I did that and it let me go through all the setup fine. The problem occurred during CIF creation. It says that my VCD files are not a track file. What does that mean? EZ CD and Nero let me write to the disc fine without a problem. If EZ CD says it VCD compliant, so should I-author, right? Well I-author says it is not!
