I have seen the demo of the upcoming DVD-Recorder unit coming from Panasonic. The DVD-Recorder unit beats this hands down.

I've talked to the Distributor of the Datavideo VDR 1000 in Singapore yesterday and the machine sells for about 1000 US Dollars here. However, a friend told me that there is a Singapore based company to come out with a similar stand-alone machine for about 500 US$. It might be worth the wait for a couple of months to let the prices come down a little bit.....

Cheers - Homer

Hi all, I do have a DVR 2000 and start tesing it. Does anyone has also one ? I have been in contact in Steven from the list. Very nice guy. His item seems very interesting and definitely superior to the DVR 2000 ( except the price :-) and probably for the moment ). I look upon the novelty that his company will produce, meanwhile at moment I'll try my best to work on my new machine. , I have to do some work from very close friends of mine, that you probably know: the Gipsy Kings? With my warmest regards to all Vincent from Provence in France

As far as I know,VDR has a promising market.A supplier named Amoisonic from China is now providing such product with a competitive price, usd 370,FOB.Even taking the freight into account,I think it's still much cheaper than similer available in US.
