Our 7 month male silver coon has an elevated urea level, even though the vet says he appears to be healthy-- no obvious heart problems, no kidney blockage. Elmer (the kitten) is active and happy, but we are quite worried about this. He is now on a low protein, high carb diet and is being given linoelic (sp?) acid supplements, along with vitamon E. The vet says he suspects that this may be a problem common to the breed.

Does this seem possible/ likely?

Does anyone else have this problem?
