Welcome to TB2000 - Your new Campaign News Source

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

it seems that tb2000 has now 'evolved' into a forum on whats happening in the electoral campaigns. every other post is 'mccain this' .. gore that'. i dont know about everyone else on tb2000 (i've been visiting for over a year), but i wonder what this forum is about any longer. i could care less about who wins the elections. they're all criminals and it doesnt make a rats ass difference who gets in, the public gets fucked in the end anyhow.

is anyone else tired of reading about the bastard politicians all the time?

Answers

I'm sure tired of it, Lou, and I can't help but wonder what percentage of the people posting are actually campaign shills.

The only posting I have truly appreciated was a link to: http://www.govote.com/votematch/index.asp which let's you see how the candidates compare to your own views.

I'm going to make up my own mind here, and I'm not going to be influenced by the piles and piles of crud posted to TB about the candidates, cuz there's no way I'm going to trust the sources on this one.

A critical evaluation of the top 25 posts at 0942 AM 030100 would suggest a serious math defficiency.

Hey1Hey!Hey! This is still the best country on earth. If you don't like the politicians there's always something you can do individually. Start small, in your own front yard - put up an election poster. Put a sign on your car. Or join in a neighborhood get out the vote group or run for office yourself. Start out by running for the local school board, then run for a county office, and later on, run for the state legislature, then the House, then the Senate, then run for President of the United States. If you were born in this country YOU CAN DO IT. The sky is the limit. Make a difference if you don't like how it is. One vote means far more than you can imagine.

It does not matter who you vote for.The end result will be the same old crap, same old corruption, same old shit.

Very,

How quaint. Do you honestly believe that elected officials have any real power? Haven't you been paying attention?

lou,

I don't mind the political posts. They are interesting to read in a let's-go-to-the-Circus kinda way. Although the Klowns aren't very funny and are actually a little scary.

TB2000 is an interesting place to be, when people abandon it then that'll be the time to shut up shop

are politicians born bastards

become bastards

or have bastardisation thrust upon them

Very,

<> no disagreement here. there's no other place on earth i'd rather be!

<> i dont think so. yeah u can 'start small' and 'join in a neighborhood get out the vote group or run for office yourself'. but here's the dilema: if u 'stay small', u dont make a difference in the grand scheme of things. if u 'get big', and start to make 'big' waves ... you'll die. politics on the 'big' scale is no joke. you begin to threaten TPTB, and u get killed. and there's no one that can do anything about it. besides which, just to get 'get big' u have to play the game or u dont get there.

yeah u can 'run for the local school board, then run for a county office, and later on, run for the state legislature, then the House, then the Senate, then run for President of the United States' but somewhere along the way, politics and corruption and - lets just call it Evil - ALWAYS get involved and pervert the process you are describing. i wish it werent so, but there aint no exceptions i'm afraid. no living ones anyway.

the whole political process is so rotten i gag from the smell. i'm not saying there's ZERO chance of someone honest making it to the top, but its pretty damn close from my perspective.

kritter, it's the same uneasiness I have when listening to talk radio shows prior to elections. I would expect a well-organized campaign to make extensive use of these types of air time.
