If this story turns out to be true, it could turn into a lightning rod real fast!

No, I think if true it's just China's way of continuing to show its willingness to be agressive, not a prelude to WWIII. After all, who's going to get worked up about a stolen load of *gravel*?

How about pirates - there are a lot of them in the area?

When are the elections in Taiwan anyway? I haven't paid much attention to it lately but I thought they were coming up in March.

Frank:

The FREIGHT doesn't matter, the sovreignty of the FLAG ON THE FREIGHTER is what matters, plus the 12 or so Taiwanese.

Johnny- March 18, just 2 weeks away.

Chuck,

*I* understand what you're saying, but the T.V. news will come out with "a stolen load of gravel... found in Chinese harbor" and no one will care, that's all.
