Is that 20" wide, or long?

You ca print a 20 inch image from a coolpix 990 however the results will be much less than outstanding. Epson 12oo will only print on 13 inch wide paper so even that will be too small. If you print a 16X20 image at 200dpi image you will need a 36M file. If you print it at 100 Dpi you need about a 10M file. I don't think this camera has the pixel size for this size of image. It depends on the lack of quality you can tolerate

At the size range you're asking about, it sounds like the only way you'd get there with a digicam would be using software like Genuine Fractals. Hey, it was good enough for Sports Illustrated...[Well OK, there must be a better example? Where's the guy that sited Epicurian magazine in another response to another forum question when you need him? :-)]

I'm with the other guys, HOW BIG? In what directions? Do you plan on printing it in 2D as say a 16x20" or is it only going to be viewed by cosmic string fragments? ;-)

I've had the Epson 3000 for two years now. Does 17" by whatever length. Cost is about $1100. Supplies are very reasonable, about $.50 for 8x10 glossy color.
