I check out tomorrow the 1st, someone was given my room tonight. Leap day problem?

FYI, Someone just was given my room at this Hilton in the northeast. He walked right in on me eating dinner. Good thing he didn't come in after 1:00am! Here are more details: 1. I check out tomorrow March 1st. 2. Today is the 29th (leap day) 3. If the computer here at this location thinks today is the 1st it would naturally think I had checked out. 4. I called the front desk, and the reservation system, nobody can confirm that it is a computer problem. Official word is: "It could be a computer problem, they will have someone check it out in the morning."

It is not that big of a glitch, but if I was an undercover cop who was nervous...Someone could have gotten hurt! (I am not a cop, nor do I carry weapons.)

Thought you folks might enjoy this. If I find out more when I check out in the morning I will let you know.

Anyone else checking out of a hotel tomorrow? Better lock your door before going to bed!

Sorry David, accidental double-renting same room happened in the 70's, and even a couple of months ago for me. It is not new. A wrong computer key, wrong placement of a card. Also embarrasing for the Desk Clerk.

I travel a lot. Reservations are never screwed up. {g}

Ya know Imso, if their was one kind thread in your spirit, you would buck out. Oh No, you evil person, you strike again and again, like a serpent. Like a band of locusts.

Old Imso kinda of reminds me of nits, or their little desert cousins. Cooties. Oh well. Could be worse you know. He/she/it could have been endowed with some intelligence also.

Kinda hurtful on your parts, too...

I guess what peeves me on this board is the quanitity of unsubstantiated conclusions, the pervasively negative representation of nearly everything that happens, and the extension of negative conclusions about an isolated event to a broader horizon. There is a difference between being prepared for the worst and SEEING the worst in everything and everybody. I fully admit to being brutal and bullying toward those who are just nasty about ... life. In real life you might find me skeptical, but pleasant. I certainly don't walk around complaining about "they" all the time.

IMHO many posters here deserve to be confronted. The cumulative influence of the attitudes expressed on this board is destructive to the fabric that holds us together. You all may deserve one another, but you don't deserve to bitch and moan in peace, or unchallenged.
