What software will let me convert images in "batch"?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

Can anyone suggest a good but cheap software package that will let me: 1. Convert images to different formats 2. Let me change the size, brightness, contrast, etc. 3. Create what I think is called a "Mask" so I can remove the background and just have a picture of the object with no background. (Is this a "mask"?)

And finally, it MUST be able to do all of the above in a "batch". I have products that all are the same size. They are pro sports team shits. So I want to take pictures of all of them (there are over 100 pictures!), and then change the size, brightness, etc. in batch. It would take too much time to have to do each one individually.

PhotoImpact 5 does it all and in batch mode too.

Also, you might look at CompuPic. Around $140 including the Automatic Batch Conversion package ("ABC"). Trial version good for 30 days is free (not including ABC, but you can see how it works one image at a time.) I don't think it includes what you're calling a "mask", but it's a pretty powerful package.

The cheapest option has surely got to be good 'ol Paintshop Pro.

ACDsee 32 is a very good batch convertor, with lots of options if needed. It'll view all your images as thumbnails of files.
