an ABC News poll released Friday found two-thirds of Americans saying they know little about McCain and that 7 in 10 described him either as a moderate or a liberal, despite the fact that in his new ads he calls himself a proud Reagan conservative. A bare majority of Americans say the more they hear about McCain the more they like him, but that could change when they learn specifics about his stands on issues. McCains greatest appeal is to moderates and independents, but the ABC News poll found that 6 in 10 Americans do not know his position on abortion (he is opposed) and 7 in 10 do not know his position on gun control (he is against most new gun control legislation)

I understand that McCain has in the past supported "restrictions on some assualt weapons" as well as Restrictions on "cheap handguns". If the source I read is correct, who gets to decide what an "assualt weapon and a "cheap handgun" is? Now I hear that he is opposed to "new gun controls". What about older gun control proposals? We gun owners are getting tired of being taken for granted by the Republican Party while the Democrats are sure not going to do us any favors! I would like to know,(as I'm sure many would), the REAL position on guns and gun owners by John McCain!

Before I give my opinion let me say that when i hear the national anthem and a tear wells up in my eye it will be for John McCain as well as the other men and women that have served the United States.

That being said, John McCain is a Liberal, hipocrit, and a wanna be gun grabber. His reform is a sham. One reform idea of his is that no "negative" (meaning voting records, actual quotes, and other horendous things like that) cannot be made public 60 days before and election. Everone knows the memory of the sheeple is about 40 seconds these days.

I listen to Ken Hamblin (the Black Avenger) and he had the head of Gun owners of America on the program. This gentleman had not one good thing to say about McCain. This alone should open your eyes.

I'm not saying The Bushman Is the best man either, just pointing out a few flaws that I know of in McCain. Hell, if I had my way it would be Keys, Buchanan 2000. But as long as Gore is out of the picture you can color me happy.
