Last year the government kept saying that the biggest danger was panic. When Y2K activists argued that truth was the best way to enable citizens to intelligently prepare, the response was always, "Nothing to worry about; don't panic, and above all don't stir up panic."

Now we're being told that we can expect higher gasoline prices this summer. In February, no less. When was the last time TPTB warned us this far in advance that we can expect something other than continued good times? Especially in an election year. Why would they do this, other than they are expecting something REALLY bad and are trying to prepare the public gradually to minimize fallout when it finally happens.

Before you all flame me about my subject question, yes, I know that there are lots of us who believe there is stuff going on that we aren't being told about (e.g., Y2K-related system failures). But what I mean specifically is, does anyone get the impression that TPTB are gearing up for something REALLY BAD to happen, I mean way worse than higher gasoline prices? And any thoughts as to what it might be?

If things are controlled and happen gradually then the man in the street excepts and gets used to it and does not cause a fuss, if the the change is sudden he shits himself. TPTB are hoping for a gradual change: stock market slowly going down (overdue correction). petrol prices slowly rising (OPEC not towing the line).Slow increase in plane crashes,trian derailments all happening unnoticed. I hate to have to say this but jo public does not take any notice any more he has his head filled BS fed to him by TPTB.

You may be on to something here. Keep in mind, above all else, TPTB want to retain CONTROL - that is what it's all about.

Also keep in mind, EVERYTHING has a beginning, a middle, and an ending. Beginnings and endings usually transpire over a short period of time, as compared to the middle section. When I say everything, I mean societies, stock markets, life. Everyghing has a 1. birth; 2. life; 3. death.

On to your question...warnings of a negative thing 4-5 months in advance is unprecidented. This could mean, as you surmize, that "they" know (or THINK they know) the problem(s) is worse than they are saying. They sense that this could be the "beginning of the end."

This being the case, control is best maintained by a dependent and compacent populace. How best to maintain and cultivate that? "Feed" partial "not-too-bad" information so they won't freak out when TSHTF.

All of this is pure speculation...who knows?

I think Greenspan's admission that they no longer had a definition for money, and could essentially no longer control it (see discussion w/ Rep. Ron Paul) relates here: perhaps the powers that be have lost control in other areas as well. So who is in control? Computer hackers? Techno-terrorists? Better question: Who has God chosen to give the control to? Maybe what ZOG is telling us is "We have lost control of the world, and we are scared to death you'll find out."
