US Team Named

News Flash: 2 OK men named to the new US Mens Team--Dan Meenehan and Mook Everett, both to the "B" Team. But, the news release mentions the Mook is in the proverbial USOF doghouse, for not paying his dues (perhaps in so many ways, though the release implied it was purely a matter of money). My question is: has Mook extendd his one man Jihad against Albertsons to include USOF? Or has he been waging a secret, stealth campaign all along with none the wiser? Just what sort of revolution is fomenting down in the Land of the Saguaro anyhow?

Mook is a member of USOF in good standing, and has been for something like 13 years now without interruption, save a month or so in '95. The person known as 'Donald L. Davis' is simply misinformed (Mook is being overly tactful, not that the donald would be expected to return the same courtesy).

Mook is mystified that Spike was not named to one of the discretionary spots. While Mook would not need to diss the others in the discretionary list, it seems that except in the case of Snorkel, Spike is head and shoulders above whatever criteria are used to select those spots.

While Mook is not totally enamored with USOF's leadership, there is no official boycott. That doesn't mean the donald is not in Mook's doghouse.

The donald makes some smirking remark about a person named to the US team being under fire due to the fact that he or she competed for another country (Romania, in fact) during the '99 WOC. That seems ridiculous! There are people constantly immigrating into this country. To prevent them from being on the US team is... well... wrong.

It must be noted that actions taken against albertson's and victories against albertson's by OK were not accomplished through the actions of Mook alone. They were the result of a team effort --- everyone pitched in and we took the enemy down.

Remarkable that such a prominent member of the OK Relay Cadre could be so derelict as to allow their USOF membership to lapse! Mook protesteth, but we hear no pig squeals of mea culpa from the High Priests of USOF. So does Mook protesteth too much? In the old days of OK, this would have stirred Quantrill and his colleagues to immediate (and unsavory) action. What next? Will we soon hear reports of the Cadre going to Taco Bell and not even ordering their favorite Chalupa selections? Could it be that Dan and Spike will be caught running at night with their headlights worn backwards by the ever vigilant KC police? This is obviously a matter for a thorough audit, and I think we all know who should be charged with preparing an official, and exhaustive report as to the true facts of the matter, for Forum consumption. Yes, I mean Mary Maprunner.

I suppose if Quantrill were alive today he'd be a SLOCer, or maybe an ALTOS person.

I for one will never give up my aquafresh. Where did you hear this US Team nonsense?

Apparently news concerning the US team is given out on a "need to know" basis.

By the way, I was out attempting to run earlier today. At that time I came to an inescapable conclusion: I have lost the edge.

Luckily you have teammates that will handoff to you with a big enough lead you will be able to walk the course.

To whom it may concern: : : :

Quit whining and renew your USOF membership.

Once Upon A Time:

There was a relay team that trained and trained for years to win the U.S. Relay Champs. Finally they finished first in the year 2000, but were dismayed to find one of their teammates had not renewed his USOF membership. It was a very sad story indeed.
