Logically: without the experience you would not have the memory.

The reason I re-live in memories an experience is that it is impossible to stay there in the experience and continue living and experiencing new things. That and to use the memories to enhance the new experiences.

For me the experience is much more important, because I cannot trust my memoery to repeat it properly. Many times I have related an experience as I remember it, only to have someone else who was there say "NO WAIT!!! this is what really happened!!" So if you see me wallowing in some excellent experience sometime, leave me to enjoy it, cause I will probably never get the chance to again!! Pete

If you are living in the future or the past, then you are not truly present for the moment. Thusly, you are missing out on yourlife. Therefore, my answer would be the experience itself.

That said, I do live often in the past or future ..... *sigh*

Experiences are only as good as the memories they leave.
