I have a Fotovix, using a 1/2" CCD and a high light source, this unit sends via an RCA pin jack a NTSC image of a slide or negative to a TV.What interface do I require, frame grabber, video card ,software etc to bring up an editable image on a PC. I am a novice!! Paul Woolston

Your most economical option is probably going to be a Hauppauge Win TV card or one of its cheaper imitators. The frame-grab quality really isn't too bad, but don't expect dedicated scanner quality from it. Image quality on mine from a decent Intel webcam is about on a par with low-end digital cameras.

HIGH PAUL, I USE A "SNAPPY" WITH MY FOTOVIX. HAVE HAD BETTER LUCK WITH THAT THAN A REGULAR SLIDE SCANNER.

FOR $90.00 IT CAN'T BE BEAT. WELL I SHOULDN'T SAY IT CAN'T BE BEAT. BUT, I HAVEN'T FOUND A BETTER WAY FOR BOTH SLIDES AND NEGATIVES. AND YOU AREN'T LIMITED TO 35MM SIZE. GOOD LUCK.
