McCain-another pound of pond scum

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Says he will strenghen the military. Doesn't say he will bring our troops home from Europe's ancient tribal wars.

Says he will trim the government,HOW, where are the details?

He is making lots of promises and offering no solutions. Over the years I have learned talk is cheap. But when the government gets involved, it's not, the taxpayer pays and pays and pays.

I will tell you today what he will do for us. Escalate our troop involvement in Europe. Drag us into a civil war in South America. Prostitute himself and the Presidency for power and control.

He may offer a few new techniques but he will do the same as Clinton (I didn't have sex with that women)and Bush (read my lips, no new taxes). He will do the same as Reagon, Carter, Ford, Nixon, Kennedy, and Eisenhower, grow the government and our taxes.

He will imprison more Americans, he will drive taxes higher, he will walk all over personal freedom. Why, because he's a politician, that's the only thing modern politicians know how to do.

While Russia and China get stronger and more threatening, he will be waging a war against vegetation in Columbia. Stuffing the prisons with pot smokers until there is no room for rapists, murderers, and thiefs.

Get the USSA out of the business of social engineering and freedom forefeiture. Stop policing the world. Stop the DOJ from walking rough shod over the Constitutions. Stop the alphabet soup of government agencies from growing unrestricted.

If the government cares so damn much about the kids, why is it taxing their educational savings. If the government cares so damn much about the farmers, why are they taxed to death. If the government cares so damned much about the elderly, why are they taxed beyond their means. Why, because the government does not, and has not in my life time given a rats ass American citizens. It cares only about expanding its own power base and control. Screw them all.

Get smart, vote Libertarian.

Hokie Have you ever bothered to take a serious look at the Libertarian platform. It starts with the Constitution.

As I see it, the problem with the Libertarians is shared by the Reforn Party and by other quality candidates. They are outside of the perceived mainstream and thus given little or no creedence. Voting for these candidates is strictly a feel-good exercise as the ultimate achievement is to splinter the opposition (usually). This clears the way for the Bill and Hillary types to sweep into, and stay in, power.

Alan Keyes is a DYNAMIC American...deep, intellectual, with solid ideas and convictions about the future direction of this nation. Yet, he hovers around the 4 or 5 percent mark. The media and the TPTB do not want you to get the idea that he MIGHT win, so he gets utterly ignored. It works towards the same end result. Another goofball globalist swine of low repute gets elected and we the people get... BOHICA!

McCain is a war hero. He will do what is right.

Do you moralistic moron republicans want to regain the whitehouse? You must do it with crossover democrats. Thats reality.

McCain is your only candidate that can do it.

Just think of the possibilities.

Jerry Falwell to head the office of correct mindedness. Pat Robertson to head the office of re-education.

Happy Republicans everywhere. Either think and live like I say or don't live!!!!!

While voting Libertarian is an exciting concept, at this point in our country's history you are simply throwing your vote away.

It will take pain and suffering before Americans are persuaded to make radical change without an accompanying media/money blitz.

Older and Wiser raises some good questions. With all due respect, I'm going to insert something on his thread: he'll see where I'm headed. When I came back to Texas I met a man named C.D.****. He had spent five years in a Vietnamese prison camp. His hands bore the scars of torture. He carried his pow military papers with him. No-one where we worked (a state agency) wanted to listen to CD-they were bored, quickly, with what happened to him.His story was old hat by the time I got home. CD told me that there was a heirarchy to POW release: white officer, white enlisted, black officer, black enlisted. C.D. was an officer, but black. He never got over the hurt of seeing men who had done less POW time released because (he perceived) they were white. CD came home, made himself fit in with the rest of the people, but not really. He was head and shoulders above the sheep we worked with. I look at McCain. Maybe he wouldn't leave without his brothers- I have to think about that with the POW issue. I don't know. I do know though, that any man who is a POW-and my father disappeared into the mists of North Korea, my great-grandfather spent two years at a Union POW camp in the civil War-is a different breed of cat. They're harder, stronger, less trusting and true survivors. It's possible McCain is a system hack-it was possible for CD to have been one too, but he wasn't. In the filth that we call government, we're going to need a strong leader to make changes, and those changes better be quick if we want to hang on to what we've got.I don't say the end justifies the means, but whoever comes up against the system had better be cunning as the serpent: the dove got shot, fried and ate. Our problem is assessing what we have to work with. By the way, CD died last year. I couldn't make myself go to his funeral. I can only think about his hands, that tattered document he kept folded and tucked in his wallet and sitting with him at break in the coffee room. Let's look, ask, investigate and see what we come up with. The forum can toss anything! We owe that to ourselves. By the way, my only problem with McCain is I don't think he can be bought. He's got an agenda, I think it's OK,but jeeze- that's one tough mf to be raised to CMFIC (and if you're not a Marine go ask about that acronym).

It's such a relief to know we have you open-minded liberals to keep the rest of us in line.

The article quotes,"Says he will strenghen the military..." WHO'S MILITARY? CHINA'S - RUSSIA'S? "Says he will trim the government,HOW, where are the details?.."HE HAS ALREADY SHOWN US HOW HE TRIMMED HIS FELLOW POW'S DOWN...HE ATE GOOD FOOD AND GOT GOOD MEDICAL TREATMENT FOR INFORMATION...WHILE REAL AMERICAN HELD OUT AND WHERE TORTURED, STARVED AND KILLED...YEH, HE TRIM AMERICA DOWN...HE'LL SELL US OUT AND WE WILL STARVE!

He is making lots of promises and offering no solutions. HE DOESN'T HAVE SOLUTIONS BECAUSE HE DOESN'T NEED TO HAVE ANY SOLUTIONS ... HE IS EXPERIENCED IN KEEPING PROMISES TO THOSE WHO OWN HIM AND HAVE BROUGHT HIM!... "Over the years I have learned talk is cheap. But when the government gets involved, it's not, the taxpayer pays and pays and pays...AND THIS MAN NAMED MCCAIN PLAYS THIS TUNE WELL -- JUST ASK HIS FELLOW POWS HOW THEY PAID FOR HIS INVOLVEMENT WITH THE ENEMY!

"I will tell you today what he will do for us..." HE'S ALREADY IN BED WITH AMERICA'S ENEMIES... HE WILL SELL OUT OUR TROOPS TO A UN PATCH AND OATH... AND THE PRESIDENCY WILL CONTINUE TO BE LIKE IT NOW...AN ABOMINATION OF JUSTICE! "He may offer a few new techniques but he will do the same as Clinton (I didn't have sex with that women)and Bush (read my lips, no new taxes). He will do the same as Reagon, Carter, Ford, Nixon, Kennedy, and Eisenhower, grow the government and our taxes..." MCCAIN IS EXTREMELY QUALIFIED TO BE AMERICA'S NEXT LEADER! MENE FURER (sp)...HE IS A CLASSIC MODEL FOR OLD TIME FRAUD, TREASON AND SPINELESS!

"He will imprison more Americans, he will drive taxes higher, he will walk all over personal freedom..." YOU BETCHA HE WILL!!! WE ALL HAVE OUR PRICE, SOME OF US FOR A DIME BAG OF DIRTY DOPE, AND OTHERS POWER! MCCAIN IS THE MORE DANGEROUS SELL OUT... HE NOT GOING TO JUST DO HARM TO HIMSELF...BUT TO A NATION AND WORLD FOR HIS GREAT PLEASURE! "Why, because he's a politician, that's the only thing modern politicians know how to do...."

While Russia and China get stronger and more threatening, he will be waging a war against vegetation in Columbia. Stuffing the prisons with pot smokers until there is no room for rapists, murderers, and thiefs.

AND THE MCCAIN BEAT GOES ON! AND THE HEART BEAT OF AMERICA IS STILLED!

-- SB Ryan G III (sbrg3@juno.com), February 24, 2000.

SB Ryan, that is quite a rant. With no facts to back up your vitriolic attack on a man who isn't on this forum to defend himself. Do you have another candidate to offer? What are HIS/HER credentials? We, particularly a man of the cloth, should be careful of how we slander and libelously speak of others. This man was a POW, and he is a stronger human being and more experienced in many areas than the two spoiled kids of wealthy politicians who are the other most likely contenders...you know, Bush and Gore.

-- Elaine Seavey (Gods1sheep@aol.com), February 24, 2000.

McCain is simply an opportunistic politician.

When he was a POW he took advantage of the opportunities given him to mamke his imprisonment easier. When he got home he took opportunity of his ex-POW status as a cross to hang himself on and get elected to Congress. When he was offerred deals by the fatcats in Arizona, they were opportunities not to be missed, either.

Right now he's jumping at the opportunity provided by the Democrats to be a spoiler for the GOP in their election. McCain is simply running to suck-up as much of Bush's campaign warchest as possible.

Remember last fall and all the media crying about how unstoppable Bush was? Remember the press ranting over "Bush having tens of millions of dollars and no real opposition" and how bad it was he would be able to outspend Gore during the election campaign?

Not now. Not since McCain magically became the media's darling and the Democrat's favorite Republic. McCain's candidacy has forced Bush to spend lots of money and between now and mid-March he'll have to spend lots more to finally establish himself as this fall's candidate.

And the outcome will be the same as Bob Dole faced in 1996, out of money for the fall campaign because he had to spend it all to wage an unexpected primary war. Different campaign, same script.

Why do I get a feeling that the McCain campaign is being run at the highest levels out of a "dirty tricks office" somewhere in the White House office complex?

WW
