coincidence?

I don't want to speculate...but I guess I am anyway. I just looked at Plaintive Wail and him and Pam seem to be having the same problem. And both don't know the next time they will write.... So now I am having double withdrawl. Is anyone else?

totally. These two journals are two of the three I read regularly. The other is Fresh Hell and she hasn't been writing any entries lately either!

Yup, it totally sucks that two of the most entertaining on-line journalers out there have been preoccupied with reality and the details of their private lives. It's hard not to speculate, but is it really fair to them, or the people in their lives who did not choose to share their journal space?

I hope they both make it through to the other side, because I miss my daily dose of sarcasm, wit and goofiness.

And if any of you are going to be in Austin during SXSW: Pamie and Stee are going to be on a panel together - discussing the pros and cons of on-line journaling.

I'm really relieved that it's a coincidence.

It doesn't matter what is troubling Pamie and Stee, or if their troubles are related. It just hurts me to know that they are suffering. When will this month from hell end?

Yeah, it looks like a lot of folks in the journal community are gonna be at SXSW. I'm hoping to check out some panels featuring Pamie, Nikol (disgruntledhousewife.com) and a lot of other folks. I'm supposed to be on a panel about how companies should approach the media (my advice: with cookies). Should be interesting.

Hey, I updated today. And, like so many others, I am also having relationship issues that I choose not to discuss in my journal. But I'm also really busy.

Anyway, my editor at Ironminds.com is going to SXSW and I told him to say hi to Pamie for me. So Pamie, if Andy Wang says hello to you from Kim, I'm the Kim he means.

Stee's going to be on the panel too?

*pause to do the Happy Dance*

SxSW is gonna be so cool this year.... (As if I've ever been any other year.)

What is SXSW? (Yeah, okay, I can kind of guess that it has something to do with the web and maybe with journaling and could it be that SW stands for southwest, but maybe it means Squishy's Wit or Sinister Webrings or Sanity Withdrawal or....)

-- Anonymous, February 24, 2000

SXSW is South By Southwest, this big festival/conference thing incorporating music, film, internet stuff and Lord knows what all else.

-- Anonymous, February 24, 2000

South by Southwest is basically what Lindsay said. It's held in Austin each spring. The website is at http://www.sxsw.com.

This is the first year I'll be attending (the Interactive festival) and I'm so excited it's pathetic.

If you can't make it to SXSW, there's always NXNE in Toronto.

What week is the Web festival? I know the music thing is during my spring break (I WILL make it to Austin this year for SXSW, dammit! It's only a 3 hour drive!), but is the web thing at the same time as the music thing? I'd love to see you and Stee live and in person. It'd almost be like meeting rock stars. Or something.

The Music Festival is March 15-19.

Interactive is March 11-14.

And Film is March 10-18.

The overall schedule is here.

SXSW sounds like a good time. I'm probably going to Web Sphere 2000 but SXSW sounds like more fun.
