Nikon LS-30 Vs. LS-2000

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Imaging Resource Discussion : One Thread

I was wondering what you folks think about these two scanners. I can afford either, but I much prefer the ls-30's price. Is the ls-2000 worth twice as much?

In a word, yes. You might want to look at minolta's offerings. I have scans from an LS 2000 and use a minolta scan speed. The results are very similar. Minolta's new scanner the elite, has the digital ice but lacks the auto feeder that you can get with the ls 2000. You could consider those, especially if you use the vuescan scanning software that allows multi-pass scanning.
