Anyone heard any reports caused by the solar flare up?

No, and it hasn't even done much on the gummin't NOAA satellite data so far. (remember, last week around monday the Kp index hit a 7 which is high, but not spectacular, there were reports that it would hit in the 9's perhaps, but so far nothing.) Proton flux density has been up the last two days but is subsiding. Electron flux has tanked downwards in the last hour... but this is hardly spectacular.

I belive the NOAA sat. is in geosynchronous orbit, so it should get hit about the same time as we do.

Looks like this one was a dud. You can download the gif movies here:

(you want to load the C3 movie. It may take a while. the site is slow.) The reason you can tell this CME is headed straight for us is it is roughly circular around the sun ( a "halo" ) whereas the others are off to one side or the other.

Happy

David,

I suggest that you head on over to: http://www.earthchangestv.com/ if no one replies soon. The board is slowing down a bit, and you know why. I, myself, am going to bed.

Stay away from that straw! (-;
