Bradley Plane Lands Safely After Problem Feared

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Bill Bradley's plane landed safely in St. Louis late on Saturday after the crew feared a possible mechanical problem, a Bradley spokesman said on Sunday.

A warning light came on just a few minutes after takeoff from St. Louis, and the private plane with more than 35 people aboard immediately returned to the airport, Bradley spokesman Eric Hauser said.

No one was hurt. ``The plane is getting a thorough look now, but there was no danger,'' he said.

Bradley was on his way to Baltimore when the incident occurred. Hauser said the former New Jersey senator would instead fly to Newark, New Jersey, on a different plane on Sunday.

Bradley is running against Vice President Al Gore for the Democratic presidential nomination. Important primary elections loom in New York, California and several other states on March 7.
