NEED HELP WITH PREMIERE!!!!!

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Editing DV Films : One Thread

I am trying to learn Premiere and have discovered the "User Guide"isn't helping me much.

I can't get video clips (AVI) to play in my source view AND I don't know why. I click on the timeline header to make it active THEN double click on my clip in the timeline. The first frame appears in the source view window HOWEVER when I hit the play button the clip runs BUT the video image doesn't. The clip is running; I watch the timecode run BUT again there is no audio or video playing.

Now I have no problem getting clips to play in my program view window. Therefore I can play watch my clips just not edit them.

Any helpful suggestions I would truely appreciate....

There is a wonderful website you can go to to learn how to use premiere. It is called www.vtco.com and has online training courses in quicktime format so you will need to have quicktime installed on your system to go through these lessons.

They have it set up so you can go through some trial chapters and if you want to become a member it is $25.00 a month with unlimited access. This site has been a great resource for me.

Perhaps you will find the information you need.
