Wonder why Brazil's port is experiencing a 2 week delay? Labor disputee, y2k? Didn't Brazil have a y2k related port failure shortly after rollover? Anybody have any information.

Soybeans Leap on News of Brazil Export Delay

CHICAGO (AP) - Soybean prices rose sharply Friday on the Chicago Board of Trade as the result of a possible delay in Brazilian exports that would boost prospects for U.S. sales. Grains were mixed.

In limited pre-holiday trading, soybeans leaped to contract highs on news that Brazil's primary port for soybean exports may experience a two-week delay in loading new crops.

That effectively would add two weeks to the window in which crops from the United States, the No. 1 soybean producer in the world, will be fully dominant on the market.

Wheat futures also increased after four straight days of decline that observers said had left the market oversold. Snip
