TBY2K Posters: SORRY !! Per AOL REQUEST: We have to leave this up for awhile so AOL can watch it...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : TimeBomb 2000 (Y2000) : One Thread

Sorry for the inconvenience, but it's physical evidence of abuse.

AOL requires us to leave it up. We've been on the phone directly with them about it.

Please "TRY" to ignore her... it would really help.

Thanks

Diane

And Gosh. When did I acquire three children I don't know about?

Must've happened when I didn't notice.

*Grin*

Oh well.

So, how's the weather in your part of the country?

Diane

>"We've been on the phone directly with them about it."

Maybe they will finally take some action. Thanks again for all of your efforts, Diane. I'm sure it's a trying afternoon for all of you sysops.

raise 'em up from down below...

Thanks Diane!

Thank you, Diane!!!

I think you have been more than reasonable. Contrary to LL's accusations, I do not believe that the Sysops censor this forum. As long as the polies are civil, they are not tossed. You only weed out the s***, and then, only after someone has made a total nuisance of himself/herself.

I think you are dealing with an unstable, possibly dangerous person. The "lady" may not even be one. Please be careful.

Bravo, Diane

Diane if anyone ever deserved hazardous duty pay I would be one to say you should be at the top of the list. LOL Peace Love And Light

Oh the weather's terrible here! Hvy snow warning! Glad I got my preps! Always handy....

Hats off to you Diane. You have really taken some horrific abuse over the last 24 hrs...

-- mello1 (mello1@ix.netcom.com), February 18, 2000.

Diane, see...you've been spending so much time on the computer, you don't even remember your poor little triplets...who sit..alone.. waiting..hoping. What were their names again? Mannie, Moe, Jack?

PS..I think I have two kids around here someplace...

Wonder if this kind of thing is covered in the FEMA manual? LOL

-- David Whitelaw (Dande53484@aol.com), February 18, 2000.

Thanks all.

Hey... we've got sunshine in Silicon Valley today... finally. (I outta be out there too)

*Sigh*

Don't think we're in danger of a drought anymore this year.

This is "good newz!"

*Grin*

Diane, w/webbed feet from all the rain

Diane,

You and all of the other sysops have done a wonderful job last night. It's almost sad now, in looking back, that all of those hundreds of posts from last night were deleted. If they had not been, maybe AOL would have gotten a better idea of exactly what is happening to this forum. Oh well... we must endure.

Now, we all realize that these posts must stay active for AOL to have their time to act (if indeed they do). You may wish to possibly refrain in the future from telling us that you are talking to AOL, as we know you will be. But posting such a message will only quiet her for a time, and she will reappear. If she knows that she is watching, she will wait until she guesses that they are tired of looking. Anyway, we understand and all of us wish to say THANKS.

I guess we shall have to have more of these games this evening, but if that is what it takes for the end of this issue, I for one am all for it.

I think perhaps Lady Logic was refering to her own children, Moe, Curley, and Larry. LOL

-- David Whitelaw (Dande53484@aol.com), February 18, 2000.

Hi Diane, Great job! Just a thought. AOL probably has no interest in assisting a forum like this one that regularly assaults large corporate interests including the mass media. Remember that CNN and AOL are contemplating a merger? Given the subject matter here, the government may be just as unlikely to help...So maybe self sufficient action of some sort--e.g., blocking the poster--is needed. Any suggestions?

Diane, thank you for your efforts!!!!Please remember that there are many of us out here who do appreciate you sysops and this forum!!!I am mainly just a lurker, with only an occasional posting, but I truely enjoy the discussions on this forum. Thanks again for your efforts!!!!

LL is no lady!

-- JB (noway@jose.com), February 18, 2000.

Diane and the other sysops,

Once again, many thanks for your hard work dealing with these assholes.

Perhaps LL is mistaking your three kids for the two kids my two have over for sleepovers today. Snow day, 6-12 inches possible by tomorrow, and my husband just came hobbling in and thinks he may have either sprained or broken his ankle cross-country skiing in the field above us. Won't try to venture out for X-rays till tomorrow, though. Ack.

Are we having fun yet?

-- Firemouse (firemouse@fcmail.com), February 18, 2000.

THANKS... Diane and all the sysops. I have been lurking here for two years and appreciate all of your fine work.

-- Charles (chatcher@hcnews.com), February 18, 2000.

Diane, I want to add my thanks for all you've done. The crap you have had to take from miserable idiots, misrepresenting the situation to an incredible degree, just boggles the mind.

-- Peter Errington (petere@ricochet.net), February 18, 2000.

The unfolding drama of the occassionally almost heroic struggle to preserve this board can tell us much about what is truly good in America today.

Sometimes the best 'news' is right where we are.

Those who have character will find this board more enticing than ever.

Top floor, please.

-- Tom Carey (tomcarey@mindspring.com), February 19, 2000.

Diane,

Good luck, remember to pad the door to her room, we wouldn't want her to injure herself.

-- Squid (ItsDark@down.here), February 19, 2000.

Diane, Chuck and all of the other sysops working here.

You folk are doing a great job under very trying circumstances. As a confirmed Polly I am disgusted by the behaviour of these idiots who are trying to stop genuine discussion.

Keep up the good work, you know you have the support of 99% or more of the people here.

-- Malcolm Taylor (taylorm@es.co.nz), February 19, 2000.

Diane, Thanks from me too! I haven't been here that long...the first five months I was quiet and in the last couple of months I commented time and time...but I wa about to leave this forum until I realized today that you and others are really trying to eliminate the troublemakers and take back the forum to those who want to converse intelligently... Thanks again, BRyan

-- SB Ryan G III (sbrg3@juno.com), February 19, 2000.

Great Job, Diane! And to all forum regulars and irregulars...keep AOL on the hot seat and COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN!!!! No spamming please, just nice, polite, normal complaints.

e-mail AOL:

abuse@aol.com

Ladylogic46@aol.com

Help sysops out here and complain yourself. Don't assume that "it's being taken care of"...sysops do the best they can, but a friendly assist from all of us ALWAYS helps!

Thanks again Diane and all sysops who are on top of this one!

-- xyz (exforumregular@lurker.com), February 19, 2000.

AMEN!

-- jocelyne slough (jonslough@tln.net), February 19, 2000.

She ain't no lady, and she ain't logical. It would be kind of cool if we could set up a fake TB2000 and somehow direct all the undesirables to post there. They would be happy thinking they are bugging us, and we would be happy not having to read their dross.

-- zooper (scared@of.spam), February 19, 2000.

Diane,

Thank you so much for your tremendous efforts. You're priceless.
