Yes exactly what I experienced, no one believes it! Posted here months ago, I even suggested people should return it for a refund!

I switched to Nero and have never looked back. WinonCD was OK and VP4 works fine also.

I am afraid that ECDC does locks up and crashes on you whenever it feels like it.

WinOnCD 3.6 and 3.7 with or without Power Edition tags are a breeze to use. Never fails to write proper VCDs.

What's the difference with or without Power Edition?

With Power Edition, you can make a menu with stills or make a Photo Show with stills - very much like Video Pack 4.

Without Power Edition, you cannot make menus.

Evan

Email to me your win.ini and system.ini files. Maybe I can help. I am presently using ECDC. I had similar problem as yours initially but managed to resolve it by correcting some statements in the win and system ini files.

Yes, I had that problem with EZ-CD ver 3.5, if it is this version, get the patch from the Adaptec website, it might fix the problem. Good Luck

Couldn't agree more. Bought VCD Creator 4 and every time I've tried to create a VCD I ended up the same way as you described. All modifications I've tried in my source file couldn't solve that problem. Eventually I've switched to Nero 4.0.6.. and am happy ever since. The money spend on the EZCD is not totally wasted, because I find it more user friendly copying Audio CD's on the fly. There the Nero seems to crash from time to time.

Just hit the same problem. Looked at the Adaptec web site and found an answer that works! The stupid program must have the MS MPEG MCI driver. So go get the latest media player from the MS web site and then change the MPEGVideo= in your system.ini file to MPEGVideo=mciqtz.drv note that you have to reboot a couple of times. Check the driver in the help/about in adaptec videoCD creator ity should point to the MS driver. -Stu
