Nikons 950 & 990

I have an Agfa 1280 and for some time now been longing for a Nikon 950. Now we have a Nikon 990. Anyone tell me what the basic differences are and why the 950 appears to list higher than the 990? Any reviews available for the 990?

Knowing the 990 was on the way, I opted for the 950 instead. Reasons: the 990 offers more than 3 megapixel resolution which will give prints of up to 11 X 14. My ink jet won't handle that and I prefer prints of photographic quality at 8 X 10. The Nikon 950 offers 2.11 megapixel resolution and yeilds superb prints at 8 x 10 (or smaller).

It also comes with a Lexar USB-enabled Compact Flash Card IMPORTANT: buy another Lexar USB-enabled card for a spare and get the USB cable with it! No need to buy a CF card reader and it's MUCH faster than downloading via serial cable.

Best price I found was www.ecost.com - under $700.

This is my third digicam and I love it!

Best of luck.
