Rio Run results delayed

Valley Morning Star (Texas)

HARLINGEN  Results of the 2000 Valley Morning Star 10K Rio Run/5K Walk, scheduled to be released by today, have been delayed because of a number of problems, including computer failure at the event.

Run officials said as soon as results are tabulated, results will be published.

"We are very sorry for the delay," said race director Jerry Deal.

"This is a situation we have no control over, and we are going over them manually."

Deal said some errors have been found from the preliminary results given out Sunday and these will be corrected. In some cases it involves money prizes, he said.
