why was kelly martin (ie "lucy") killed off? her choice, or the writer's? i really liked her character and thought she was doing a great job.

Answers

Kellie Martin chose to leave the show and the writers agreed. There is some talk in other questions that either Kellie alone, or she and the writers in tandem, chose to give Lucy a violent exit, possibly so that there would be no chance of a return appearance (I guess the girl REALLY wants out!)
