I agree with all of you I was assigned to read this book in my English class and she didn't give us the whole book she only gave us a little bit of the story and we had to come up with a creative ending and I said to my mom how in the world am I suppose to come up with a creative ending if I don't understand the story at all, I mean it's a very boring story and I understand it after reading it about 10 times over and over and it's a very confusing story if you don't like to read literature like this story, anyways I just wanted to say that I agree with you all!!

I disagree with all you i thought it was a good story once you can see all the symbolism and u can read into the story. Everything resembles death: The clock\time the sound of the clock\ church bells at funural The BLACK room and most imporntantly Death itself( which was the ending where a guy in a masque of the red death appears and there is no body inside the cloak and mask

I would have to agree with most of you about writing a paper. i have to write a 3 page essay on the meaning of the number 7 and what it has to do with the stories by Poe. it's difficult but interesting.
